Manhattan Fish Market @ Mid Valley, July 17th 2011

I was at Mid Valley today doing a little shopping for Penang. Teehee. About the shopping details.. ah just wait for tomoz ;) You'll get the update.
So, I went for dinner at Manhattan Fish Market because they are having some promotion.

Do NOT be deceived by the BIG 50% discount picture in front of the menu... Heh, it's only for starters, salads and desserts if you order anything from "Strictly for Sharing"

We ordered this Manhattan Flaming Seafood Platter for RM 52.90, for the promotion part, we got 2 free soup of the day and 2 free soft drinks (bottomless).

These are the 50% ones :P

The environment of the restaurant :)

Manhattan Fish Market!

Beautiful lights~

Soup of the day.
Urgh, it tastes horrible, tooooo much carrot taste and did I mention that I hate carrots? T.T pifts

Flaming the prawns! AHAHA, their unique selling point I see!

There's Fried Calamari, Fried Dory Fillet, Fried Oysters, Manhattan Flaming Prawns, Chips, Garlic Herbed Rice, Broccoli and EWWWW Carrots

To kick it off, the Fried Calamari was just okay. There's too much pepper seasoning in it that spoiled the taste and it didn't taste toooo fresh.
I'd give 2/5 to it

Then Fried Dory Fillet, to be honest, I really just love this, it tasted better than the Fish 'n' Chips in Secret Recipe! Reallllly. It's fresh, chewie and at the same time crispy!
4/5 for beloved fillet.

Fried Oysters, aha, those were also deep fried and lmao it kinda tasted like prawns when I firstly chewed. It's definitely fresh but.. nothing special, really.
3/5 for the fried oysters

Manhattan Flaming Prawns, the most disappointing of all. A direct translation from a famous Chinese saying "Can see cannot eat". It meant like, it looks good but it tasted like crap, I can only taste gas from the flame, and lots and lots of mayonese, yuck.
1.5/5 for prawns.

Garlic Herbed Rice, eww. Is that enough to describe it? I totally prefer Kenny Roger's Aromatic Rice, or just plain white rice seriously. No garlic taste at all!
1/5 for rice.

The service was good, the waitresses were friendly but uh, they hardly notice us, that's.. quite a bad thing because we had to wait for quite some time to get to their attention. No waiters served us so far so yeah ahhaha. Overall, I don't think I'd get back there again even if someone pays for me because I think all the frying to the seafood had toooootalllllyyyy destroyed the taste.

The total bill was RM 61.35 after tax and service charges.

Stay tuned for next post about my shopping outcome :P.
